Application and Maintenance of Slurry Pump

1. Inspections before operating
1 ) Inspect and make the rotation direction of motor is same with the rotation direction prescribed by pump (please refer to the specification of relevant model). When testing the rotation direction of motor, motor should be tested separately but not together with pump.
2 ) Inspect whether the elastic packing in coupling is whole and correct.
3 ) Inspect whether motor shaft is homocentric with pump rotation or not.
4 ) Pump with manual engine barring (including motor) should not have phenomena of closeness, unsmothness and attrition.
5 ) Inspect whether bearing box is added with bearing oil (L-FC46 or L-FC68) to the position indicated by oil scale or not.
6 ) Before starting pump, please first open shaft gland water (mechanical seal is cold water), and open out inlet valve of pump and close outlet valve of pump at the same time.
7 ) Inspect whether valve is flexible and dependable.
8 ) Inspect others such as foundation bolt, flange seal gasket, bolt, pipeline system and so on are installed correctly, fixedly and dependably.

2. Start operating and monitor
1 ) Slurry pump should open out inlet valve and close outlet valve before starting. And then slowly open outlet valve after starting pump, size and speed of opening outlet valve should be mastered according to that pump won't vibrate and motor won't exceed rated current.
2 ) Starting pumps in series also should follow above method. Nothing but that outlet valve of final pump just can be opened a little (opening size is appropriate when current of first-stage pump motor is one-fourth of rated current) after starting first-stage pump, and then second-stage pump to final pump can be started in succession, after wholly starting pumps in series, outlet valve of final pump can be enlarged gradually, size and speed of opening valve should be mastered according to that pump won't vibrate and motor of any stage pump won't exceed rated current.
3 ) Slurry pump mainly takes conveying flow as aim, so had better equip flow meter in operating and monitoring system to monitor whether the flow accords with requirement at any moment; in the pipeline system, slurry-rushing system and filter-pressing dewatering system systems equipped with swirler, it is required to have certain pressure on pipeline exit. Therefore, pressure gauge also should be equipped on this system to monitor whether pressure accords with requirement.
4 ) In addition to monitoring flow and pressure of pump during its operation, it is necessary to monitor motor to make sure it won't exceed rated current. Monitor whether oil seal and bearing occur abnormal phenomena, and pump is pumped out or overflowed, etc, and then treat them at any moment.
3. Routine maintenance of pump
1 ) Suction pipeline system is not allowed to leak air, retainer of pump-entering basin should accord with the requirements of granules which can pass pump, avoid large-granule materials or long fiber materials entering pump to block it.
2 ) Wearing parts should be changed timely, maintenance and installation should be correct, clearance adjustment should be reasonable, having not phenomena of closeness, unsmoothness and attrition.
3 ) Hydraulic pressure and water quantity of bearing should satisfy the prescriptions, degree of tightness of fillings should be adjusted at any moment to never cause shaft gland leaks slurries. In addition, spindle sleeve also should be changed timely.
4 ) When changing bearing, you must guarantee there is not dust in bearing assembly parts and the lubricating oil is clean, bearing temperature is appropriate generally under conditions of 60- 650 ℃ , and should not exceed 750 ℃ in maximum value when pump operates.
5 ) The same axis degree between motor and pump should be guaranteed, and elastic packing in coupling should be integral and correct, and be changed timely after being destroyed.
6 ) Pump assembly parts and pipeline system should be installed correctly, fixedly and dependably.
4. Disassembly and assembly of pump
1 ) Disassembly and assembly of pump head: disassembly and assembly of pump head and clearance adjustment should be made according to assembly drawing. Impeller, sheath, rear guard plate and sealing box are all equipped with lifting devices for disassembly and assembly (lifting devices should be ordered and purchased separately). For the method of disassembly and assembly, please see “Application Specification of Lifting Device”.
2 ) Disassembly and assembly of shaft gland part and filling shaft gland should be made according to assembly drawing, in order to guarantee the sealing effect of filling shaft gland, form of filling opening should be cut according to the indication of following drawing, when filling fillings into gland box, 108 degrees should be staggered for the opening of adjacent fillings.
